Kristan Sanders LGPC
Hi, I’m Kristan!
I believe strongly in meeting you where you are and working with your natural resilience to help you meet your goals. I seek to provide a safe, laid-back space where you can explore difficult issues as well as celebrate the wonderful achievements in your life.
I started my career in the medical field but was dismayed at how little time I got to spend with my patients. I believe true healing is fostered through authentic connection with my clients in a welcoming, non-judgmental atmosphere. In addition to a strong emphasis on the therapeutic relationship, I value cognitive behavioral therapy as well as a mindfulness-based approach because these practices have made a tremendous impact on my own life.
I have experience helping adults navigate changes and stressors surrounding family dynamics, friendships, relationships, communication, boundaries, anxiety, self-esteem, education, and mood management. I also have a background working with survivors of intimate partner violence and provide a safe space to explore trauma together. I will walk with you to understand how abusive tactics have impacted your life–creating a cycle that affects your thoughts, emotions, body, and behaviors.
Kristan is licensed to practice in Maryland under the supervision of a board-certified supervisor (Karen Savage, LCPC) and offers services via telehealth.
